Meet Dr. Matlock
Elizabeth Matlock, MD (she/her) is a double board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist who takes a psychodynamic and integrative approach. Dr. Matlock trained at Yale New Haven Hospital psychiatry residency and child and adolescent fellowship at UNC. She completed medical school at Medical College of Georgia where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and received awards for compassion and excellence in medicine. She pursued additional training in integrative and functional medicine. Dr. Matlock specializes in psychodynamic psychotherapy, integrative medicine, LGBTQIA+, adolescents and perinatal psychiatry.
She is a certified 500-hour yoga instructor who has taught yoga and meditation for over a decade (including during college and medical school). Prior to medical school she worked in adolescent wilderness therapy, was a camp counselor and youth mentor; she’s supported kids since 2009. She holds undergraduate degrees from Swarthmore College in Religion and Biology, where she conducted microbiology research. In addition to private practice she provides hospital consultation-liaison psychiatry.

There may be tension in the parent-teen relationship or risky behaviors, and additional support can be very helpful. Dr. Matlock provides support and guidance to parents during treatment.

Child treatment is personalized and may include play therapy, CBT, medication, behavioral support, nutrition, movement and supplements.
